How to Clear Clutter with Feng Shui

What is Clutter? Clutter is low, stagnant and confusing energy that drains you and depending on where it is in your home, it can affect certain areas of your life.

Everything is energy.  Think of everything in your home as having energy. Energy cannot flow through clutter it gets stuck.  For many people clutter is emotional. Letting go emotionally and physically is important.  One of the first things I ask a client is if they have clutter. I define clutter as anything you do not need, use or love.

Ask yourself these three questions:
Do I need it?
Do I use it?
Do I love it?

If you answer no to all three, the item goes.  Start small, for instance focus on a small area, a desk drawer, or a book shelf.  Have a goal of getting rid of 9 things every day. This is a manageable goal and you will feel a sense of accomplishment.  If you have a great deal to de-clutter, commit to going through a box a day.  You will be amazed at how fast your home will be whipped into shape! Of course, you can keep going and get rid of much more.

What is Feng Shui?  The literal translation of Feng Shui is wind (feng) and water (shui).  This ancient Chinese system dates back thousands of years. It is based on the principle of energy (qi or ch’i) flow.  The premise is that everything in your home (or office) is affected by the energy flow of the space. By harmonizing the flow of chi you will have more balance in your life.
